“We will remove the sanctions at the very center which has imposed the unjust sanctions on us, that is the UN and the Security Council,” Rouhani said in a public address in the city of Bojnord, capital of North Khorasan Province, which he was visiting as part of his provincial trips.
“We are not sitting in Tehran or Bojnord shouting slogans. … We will go to the UN and revoke the sanctions at that very place,” Rouhani stated.
“This government is not sitting waiting for the opposite side to the nuclear talks to surrender or not to surrender to our rights. This government is not sitting to see if the sanctions are removed or not,” he reiterated.
However, he said, “We are not afraid of the sanctions … We fight the sanctions and with the help of you people, we will revoke the sanctions.”
Rouhani went on to say, “Those who play the sanctions down are ignorant of people’s pockets … They imported all sorts of goods with prices 10 to 15 times higher than original (price) and they picked the cost out of people’s pockets.”
“They say sanctions are no big deal, as though they are unaware of people’s pockets. They keep saying we should not stand up against the 5+1 group and we should not use select diplomats to negotiate with the 5+1 group.”
